The Iraqi parent group is held every Monday 9-11am in the Parent Room. During Term 2 the group participated in a course called ‘Living with Choices'. In this course the participants discussed and reflected on the importance of realising uniqueness of self, discovering who we are as individuals and recognising and achieving goals. The course also tackled the issues of self-belief, how to boost self-esteem and expressing emotions in a healthy way. As women we realised the need to look after ourselves emotionally, psychologically and physically so that we can support our families. We also talked about how to strengthen our inner resources in order to be able to make informed decisions in our lives. The discussions were so lively as all participants shared their personal experiences and had valuable input into the course.
In the last session the participants received a certificate acknowledging their attendance and active participation in this course.
