Welcome to Mrs Haddad's Stage 2 NAP Class where newly arrived students from Years 3 and 4 come together to learn English intensively.
Term 1
In the Stage 2 NAP class students were involved in designing and making a kite. Students studied how wind is made and drew flow charts showing the effects of cooling and warming air. Different books were read, building students knowledge of how kites fly. With teacher asistance, students followed instructions on how to build a kite and designed their own artwork to draw on their kite. As a class, all students regularly tested their kites performance and made adjustments to improve it.
All students thoroughly enjoyed the project and flying their kite.

Term 2
The focus for Term 2 was on Australian History. Students studied the first people in Australia, the Aborigines. They enjoyed an excursion to Rousse Hill Farm and experienced a colonial farm house. Students learnt about early explorers to Australia and Captain Cook.
In pairs students designed and made a board game to show their understanding of what they learnt in the unit. They made question and answer cards and shared their game with their friends from their class.
Term 3
Currently the Stage 2 and 3 NAP groups are studying Animal Adaptations and will be travelling to Taronga Zoo in August.
